Practicing straight lines

I needed placemats and I love geometric patterns. A winning combination for this new project. There are many different ways to make placemats (apparently), but I followed this video tutorial. I used quilting cotton on one side and canvas fabric on the other side but the interfacing was a bit of a nightmare and, as a result, the stitching is crooked and the placemats are not perfect rectangles. However, the more I looked at the colourful patterns the more I loved my new placemats. They are perfect for the long winter days ahead and for hot soups!
